Well, a 1/24 scale model of one, anyway.
Finishing off my Shapeways Star Wars models with a mixed bag of Old Republic/Rebel/New Republic and independent ships.
This post will be all about the Empire, the big ships and the fast ones. Some of these are canon, most of the ones that aren’t are from the TIE Fighter game. As before, I’ve linked back to Shapeways on the ship names.
Spurred on by a post over on Oppo today, I decided to get the various Shapeways-sourced models I’ve been buying for the last couple of years photographed. As it turns out, I’ve been buying a lot.....
Nerdstang is very much a tease. every time I look at it I see failure, and it pisses me off. My eagerness to create an homage to one of my favorite shows using my favorite car was nearly destroyed when I kept making mistake after mistake. Glue in unwanted areas causing paint to rub oddly, glue on the windshield, and…
I need this:
Something I loved to do in middle school. Time to get back to it as an actual dedicated hobby. Let’s see what magic I can create when I take my time. :)
I picked this gem up today, I’m some 3500 miles away from my own 86 Mustang I wanted to build one. My Girlfriend on the other hand is pretty indifferent. So to get her involved I asked her to pick a color scheme based off a character from Steven Universe. Believe it or not college students still watch cartoons. We…
Well it is 1/24 scale, so maybe you will forgive me. If not then stop reading this post. I was perusing eBay the other day cause I wanted to do an RX-3 model, but I didn’t like what they had options for, so I thought what else. Just then on Oppo someone posted about the 308, and I thought yes, a Ferrari I could…
I’ve been building, collecting, and racing 1/32 slot cars for roundabout ten years now, and I think I’ve seen the future. But let’s take a step back first.
So the Holidays are upon us, and one of the most popular gifts for the burgeoning gearhead is a small or toy version of their real car (or car they aspire to own, or don’t have a realistic chance of owning, or an aircraft, ship etc). Often times these gifts end up as “glue bombs” or punished as if they were sturdy…
How do you keep primer from wrinkling on a model car?
I haven’t really had time to work on anything lately. That’s a lie, I’ve had time, I’ve just been SO LAZY. But today I finally got to work on a 1/24 slot car that I’ll be racing this Friday:
I never quite knew where my car enthusiasm came from. A lot are sort of bred into it because their father rolled around in a 1972 Chevelle, or maybe ran his own shop. I didn’t have either of those. My father rolled around in a Pinto at a young age.
Went into Hobby Lobby for red model paint, to fancy up my winter wheels as Monkey Puzzle recommended.
finally got a few minutes to work on the Sedan Delivery. It needs touchup and final assembly but it’s moving right along. Finished all the major painting on it and did some test fits.
It’s been a while since I had a few minutes to work on the ‘53 Chevy but I have an update. The over ambitious interior project was a bust. It got paint.
So I’m finally getting back into the model building again and I finally broke down and bought these two beauties. I have a diecast Welly DeLorean but I’ve always wanted the Back to the Future 2 & 3 versions. I’m not sure how long these will take to get here since they are coming from Japan but I can’t wait to get…
mocked up the Ecto-1 with the drag slicks and skinnies last night:
I actually bought this back in high school, but never actually opened it until yesterday. (That’s an 8-year timespan, folks)
